My Scheming Eye Mask

16 Jan IMG_4303

The vain pot has risen. Again.

This arrived few weeks ago prior to my exams. God knows how horrible my skin looks like with all the stress and coffee and the late night sleep. The weather has been horrible too, its so freaking hot here that my skin started to flake and become dry :(

So I ordered a few My Beauty Diary mask and My Scheming eye mask. I like to wear masks when I’m doing my work. Its really refreshing especially when I’m up doing assignments or full blown revision. Less tendency to fall asleep too when I’m pulling an all nighter. Hahahaha.

Photo credited to fibieelyh.blogspot.

My two years old Nikon camera is seriously on its last leg. Couldnt take decent photo anymore without serious photoshopping and editing :( i’m lazy so I borrow photos from other blogs so that you guys will have a clearer view.

My Scheming is a brand from Taiwan, that caters both facial sheet mask and eye mask. Easily available at Sasa and Watson for a price of Rm6++ (will check back). I got mine from LYN forum, naturally. Coz online price is cheaper. You can check out the LYN sellers here (RM2.20/pcs) which I got mine from, or another LYN seller here (RM2.50/pcs). I’ve bought masks from both sellers and yes they cater authentic mask from Taiwan. Both are super friendly and efficient as well! :)

I bought one each out of the four types available.

Crystal Whitening Brightening eye mask

“helps reduce pigmentation and melanin formation. With the help of the natural moisturizing factor – Hyaluronic acid, it also reduces dullness around the under eye area. The presence of anti-oxidants agent helps to protect skin from stress & free radicals damage while whitens & brightens eye contour & smoothes wrinkles. “

Crystal Q10 Elastin eye mask

“Contains chitosan, Q10, collagen, and so on. It permeates well. It activates and repairs skin, smooths wrinkles, and enhances lustre as well as moisture level. It leaves skin around eyes smooth, delicate, luminous, fair, watery and firm. “

Crystal Hydrating eye mask

“This mask increases the elasticity, replenishes moisture, quickly absorbed into skin to restore Skin DHA balance. Fights against wrinkles as well as brightens up the skin around the eye region.”

Crystal Wrinkle Treatment eye mask

“Argireline Peptide helps in absorption of the essence, aids in aggravating the growth of Collagen which helps in fading wrinkles, allowing the area around the eyes region to be tight and supple.”

The verdict?

When I pulled out the mask tray from the packaging I was shocked to see its completely soaked in essence! It made such a huge mess because it spilled ALL the time and I had to clean up right after.

Jelly-like mask soaked in essence.

Tried all four eye mask and…well…

The mask fits the eye contour, but it does not stay put :( it tend to slide down every couple of minute that I had to adjust it back all the time. I couldn’t even do my work with this mask! Had to lie down for twenty minute or so before resuming. Uggh.

And worse of all, the effect is just so-so. Sure, it hydrates the eye area but to tackle eye bags and eye circles? I’ll say invest in other eye mask. Out of all four, the best would be the Crystal Wrinkle Treatment eye mask, since it does reduce my fine lines and wrinkles, but the eye bags are still there though. I’ll give it a 4/5, since it does its job.

But the rest are just pure shit. Sorry. Get the Crystal Wrinkle Treatment eye mask. Dump the rest and get yourself the ELG eye mask instead. Works better.

Hope this help. Cheers!

Weekend Wonders

14 Jan 9602944702_2_1_3

Me got a new bag today!! I’m a happy happy happy girl wheeee :D

Najavo printed bag from Bershka (RM160)

Was in need of a new bag since my beloved Roxy started to show some wear and tear :( that was a shame since it was a gift and it has lots of sentimental value to it. I actually had another Roxy bag in mind before I got this, but no regrets no regrets :) Cant wait to use it to church tomorrow hohoho. Must thank God for it too.

So have a blessed Sunday people! Hugs&kisses.

Cheers

Daiso Charcoal Mask

11 Jan DSCN7603

Guess I’m just too free ey? Hahahahaha.

Another Daiso review. This time its the famous black charcoal mask! :D I was lucky enough to be able to get this. The lady was restocking the shelf when I passed by and I quickly grabbed this. Sure enough, ten minutes later when I passed by again the whole shelf  was empty. Regret that I didnt grab two :(

Generally its a black peel-off mask. The texture is a bit runny – not too sticky and it smells a wee bit weird almost plastic-ish, especially when its about to dry. Takes time to dry off, depending on how thick you apply it on your skin. The thicker you apply, the longer it takes to dry. Make sure to apply a deliberate amount so that it covers your skin nice and black. If its too thin its not gonna work.

The verdict?

At first I was a little bit disappointed, because I only saw the facial hairs got pulled out. No blackheads or whatever. Almost cry in disappointment because I had a similar case with the Bioglo deep cleansing mask from Cosway, which cost me a whopping RM30+ and its just pure shit. Didnt even pull out my facial hairs. Thank God this is just RM5.

But then..

Hahahahaha. Disgusting picture I know. But at least there’s one got pulled out! And its the one I applied on my chin. When I checked back apparently there’s a mini pimple just checking to say hi. And the blackhead is kinda big…stared at it for quite some time. That made me cheered up for a bit :D At least the mask works! For a bit. Or maybe my face is just too clean or blackhead free…heheh :D

For the price I paid, its a decent mask :) compare to the Bioglo one. Might repurchase if I ever ran out of it. A little goes a long way. Result may vary with different type of skin, Winnie tried this and it works wonder on her. Available at all Daiso stores for Rm5 :)

Oh! There’s also a LYN seller who sells it at RM7 here, if you have no Daiso store nearby you.

Cheers!

Daiso Multicheek Blush

11 Jan DSCN7572

I was never that into blush. I don’t know why. Most of the time I’ll spent my time swatching eyeshadow palettes or eyeliners, or checking out mascaras at Watsons. But blush? Nah. The last blusher I had was the Silkygirl duo blusher, which I bought on a whim for one of my dance performance ages ago. After the whole thing was over I cant remember where I placed it anymore.

So when I saw this back then at Daiso I was a lil bit hesitant on popping it into the basket.  Heard great reviews about it though, seems like alot of people rave about this little thing. So I thought why not. Its just five bucks. Shrugs* There were three shades available, orange, pink and beige. Since beige was the most natural looking out of three (pink was a shocking pink and orange was..well orange) I picked up beige.

The multicheek blush is really quite big. Fits nicely on my palm. It comes with a mini brush too which i find useless. Too small and scratchy. I applied this with my kabuki brush instead.

The color however is GORGEOUS. For something that cost five bucks???? Its so pigmented! It has that subtle shimmer without making you look like a disco ball drag queen. It has a really nice smooth texture and I find it very easy to blend.

It gives me a healthy glowing look. Me like! :D

I used this while sitting for my major paper today. Two hours before exam and I was nervous as duck, so I took my time dolling up a bit. Just to keep the poor soul calm you know? If I do bad in my exam at least I looked good. Hahahaha.

Swatch in natural lighting.

All in all this is a good blush. And a good bargain too for just five bucks! Would definitely repurchase, if I ever run out. Its so bloody cheap! The next time you peeps stop by at Daiso be sure to look out for this thing. Definitely worth it :)

Ps : Am not sure about the ingredients listed, since I cant read Japanese. But it says back here as ‘Made in China’. Not sure how convincing is that, I heard most of Daiso stuffs are made in China, but they cater specially for Japan.

ELG Cystal Collagen Eye Mask

9 Jan DSCN7440

Having exam season now. Am currently done with three papers, another four more to go. And in the midst of  the exam tension and the freakin’ hot weather, the Uni just got to have major water shortage. Such a perfect timing. Uggh.

Okay, lets put those things aside. Went to the office today and got my package…

…and my eye masks are here woohoooo!! Imagine how excited I was to get these, I practically ripped open the packaging while walking back to my block.

Where to get : – LYN forum. I got mine here for Rm2.50/pc (really nice seller!) There’s another LYN seller here who sells it around RM2.30/pc (got the Scheming eye mask from her, will review soon!). Available at Watson as well for Rm6.90. Do the maths. Online cheaper :)

I got one for every type, just wanting to try it out. These masks are from Taiwan if I’m not mistaken. My major concern on my eye areas are the fine lines and wrinkles :( and I’m just nineteen! Eye bags and dark circles on the other hand are occasional, since I sleep all the time hahahaha. But really. Pesky fine lines please go away. Go bug old woman, not me.

It claim for moisturizing and hydrating.

The eye mask jelly

The ingredient : Plant Collagen, Algae, NMF (wtf?), Hyaluronic Acid, Essential Oils, Arbutin, EGF (wtf?), Vit C and Purified Water.

The packaging so flimsy! Its so annoying. I took out the eye mask tray and surprise, there’s no eye mask. The mask got stuck to the packaging instead. I had to peel it off and now its wrinkled. BOO.. It looks like a cross between soft paper and jelly membrane.

The good news is that there wasn’t any extra essence dripping, so that’s good. Minimal wastage. And it adhere nicely to the skin too! Perfect fit. Mind you I had these on while doing my work, and it doesn’t fall off even one bit, compare to the My Scheming eye mask which i need to adjust it right back into place. Extra point whee :)

Wrinkled eye mask.

It has a really nice cooling effect, me like :) sooo refreshing. After 30 minutes there’s a slight warm sensation so I took it off…

Before

After

Fine lines are still there. Boo. But the eye bag got somewhat smaller and less puffy, and the cooling effect got my eyes perk up after hours staring at books and lecture notes.

So would I repurchase? Why not :) Its bloody cheap. I would use this to freshen up tired eyes, plus it kept my eyes well hydrated.

So have you tried these?

Daiso@The Mines

4 Jan DSCN7255

Went to The Mines in Serdang the other day and surprise surprise there’s a newly opened Daiso store!!!! :D Its been ages since I’ve been to The Mines, sorry for being super outdated. I’ve never been to Daiso before…so sakai. I’ve always wanted to, but it’s too far away from my uni :(

If you dont know what’s Daiso, Daiso is a 100yen shop from Japan and all the stuffs are priced at RM5. Yes. LIMA RINGGIT WANG MALAYSIA. Friggin cheapp!! and it’s not like the usual crappy RM2 store we have, Daiso offers loads of neat stuffs!!! Storage boxes, cute bento boxes, stationary, you name it, and EVERYTHING’S AT RM5. It’s like a treasure cove waiting to be discovered. And I like good bargain :D (cheapo*cough*)

I was so excited when I saw Daiso that Winnie thought that I was having some sort of orgasm fit in the middle of The Mines. Hahah! However Daiso at The Mines was small and there wasn’t much choices around…boo…but I still had fun walking around like a lost kid. Hehe. And there wasn’t much people too :D even better. I hate crowds.

My hauls from Daiso.

Makeup sponges, Charcoal Black Mask, Detergent for puff and sponges , Ellefar eyeshadow palette, Eyebrow pencil

Bath mitten glove, Mascara comb, Pearl eyeshadow palette, Multicheek blush, Eyebrow coat and Wet wipes.

Yes, I got these from two hauls at different occasions. Daiso is so addictive! I had to exercise extreme self-control at Daiso, so for every trip I scolded myself (yes, I scolded myself) to only spent Rm30, which means to walk away with just 6 stuffs. Boy it was hard to choose just six! Swear i spent hours in Daiso just cause I couldn’t make up my mind what to get. But I went back to Daiso again the next day anyway so it doesn’t make any difference. Heheh.

Extra Review – Daiso Wet Wipes and Daiso Bath Glove Mitten

Got this wet tissue for cleaning purposes, since i tend to spill my coffee and bread crumbs all over my desk. The other wet tissues at Daiso were 24, 30 sheets, so I got the 60 sheets one thinking that I’ll get more for five bucks…WRONG. What i get was ridiculously thin sheet of tissues, that i ripped them in half ALL the time. But it does its job for wiping off food and coffee from the desk. I dare not use it on my skin coz it has this sick plastic-ish scent to it too. Not getting this again, even just for five bucks.

Daiso bath mitten glove.

I’ve always wanted the Body Shop’s bath gloves ever since I read about Victoria Beckham raving over them claiming it gives her baby buttocks skin. But the price of RM15.90 for a bath glove makes me think twice about it. So I was really happy putting this into my basket when I saw it in Daiso the other day. AND IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM! :) I used this sparingly over the week, once every 3 days or so. ITS SO NICE! Gives me super soft skin after I bathe. The glove fits me perfectly and it lather up shower gel pretty well too. Best part, only cost you RM5. I prefer this over the usual shower puffs, it exfoliates the skin nicely. I have baby buttocks skin now!

Expect more review coming up while I’m still all work up on blogging again.

Hugs&Kisses! have a good day ahead :)

Avene Eau Thermale Spring Water

4 Jan DSCN7272

The weather here in KL is horrible. Born a Sarawakian and having surrounded by lush green rainforest and cool clean air for nineteen years of life, KL feels like a sahara desert to me. Seriously. The minute I stepped out of KLIA few months ago, it was like WHAM super hot breeze smashing your face till you feel like you wanna die. And then when it was monsoon season, the weather got its own PMS. Sekejap panas terik, sekejap hujan nak mampus. Greenhouse effect.

And then somehow after new year it just stop raining. Just like that. It used to rain so heavily almost every evening, and now, all you get is super hot weather and really bad sunburn. Even the night feels super hot! Midnight shower is a must now. And so I got myself these :

Ta-da! Avene Eau Thermale Spring Water spray.

Avène Thermal Spring Water comes from Avène-les-Bains thermal spring in France which was declared to be of public benefit in dermatology in France, in 1874. This thermal spring water’s unique and constant composition gives it soothing and softening properties for sensitive skin. This has been acknowledged by numerous scientific studies. Avène thermal spring water is used for many skin conditions at Avène Dermatological Hydrotherapy Center in France. Tested by dermatologists, it is particularly suitable as essential care for sensitive, hypersensitive and allergic skin.

A friend commented that it look like a white dildo. I got the 50ml travel size one from Watson and seriously, it does look like a dildo. Imagine using it in the middle of a hot day, and its like holding a mini dildo close to ur face hahahahah. Make that a refreshing one.

mini dildo mmm.

I heard many rave reviews on this. Sure, it may be just water in an aerosol can. But it does have that soothing and super refreshing effect that I really like :) I cant get enough of this stuff. Its good for sensitive skin too; it help soothe and soften skin especially for those having eczema, allergic reaction, skin irritation, post surgery, yadaa.  You can also throw this in your daily skincare. Spray a fine mist on your face to prep up before moisturizer.

Oh I found out this stuff work as a setting spray for your makeup too! :D My foundation last longer in this, even under the hot weather and the constant sweating. Thought of getting the Mac fix+ since I need setting spray for my dance performances. But this stuff works wonder and at cheaper price as well. Maybe I’ll get the Mac fix+ just to try it out, but for now I’ll just stick to Avene.

Will I repurchase? Definitely!! Thought of getting the huge can as well.

(Pssst Watson having cny sales on this now, the 50ml cost me rm17++. The 300ml can cost around rm44++ if i wasnt mistaken. will check back) GO AND GET THIS. especially in this weather. *faint

You people have a good day! Hugs&kisses

How long can I keep up with this charade? Yes I can still smile. I can still laugh. I can still talk normally, and be crazy among my friends. But the moment I get back to my room, the moment I closed the door behind, everything just fall apart. Sometimes I’m amazed at how I let my emotions had me beyond control, but I just cant help it. Its tiring really, everyday is a constant battle between breaking down and trying to pick up the pieces up again.

How long will this end?

Having finals now. Wish me luck.

Happy New Year!!! Its 2012!

2 Jan SONY DSC

2011 has been an awesome journey. I had my share of laughter and tears, and a year filled with great memories. Matricity was awful loads of fun. Never knew a year spent in Labuan is gonna change my life so drastically, I’ve met so many awesome people. I’ve met Moe. Hahaha! When I thought back about how we met…well…little did I know he’s gonna change my life too.

Had a blast partying at the Rainforest World Music Festival, Kuching trip, K.K trip and Borneo Jazz fest – the highlight event of the year! Wish i can go again this year, but we’ll see how our schedule goes. Got closer to fellow cuzzies and family and yes, I had my had first working experience woohooo! Spent two months waitressing at Secret Recipe, it was fun but I do gained alot of weight…I guess food industry is just not my thing. Heh. Hmmm. What else. Oh.

I got accepted into UKM for Environmental Science. Really thank God for this, coz my I flopped my second semester during matricity, too much dating I guess (ahem) I didnt expect UKM would want me anymore…

And I went for my first backpacking trip…to K.K!!! K.K was awesome! The beach was awesome! The food was awesome! And the bar was awesome!  My second backpacking trip was to Penang, and it was my first time travelling alone. Penang was filled with lots of food, lots of walking and lots of getting lost. Hahaha! And the best part was, the locals there thought I was a foreigner! :D K.K and Penang was nothing much, but i’m starting small. Heh. My next destination would be Langkawi (just for the beach and the waterfall) and I would love to go to Bangkok and then Vietnam afterwards. I met this traveling junkie lady, and she’s been traveling alone to all parts of of South East Asia and the Philippines and even took a whole year off for work just for the sake of traveling.

Maybe I should do that too. Traveling for a year after my degree? Mum and Dad are gonna kill me. Hahah. And this year I’m determined to conquer Mt. Kinabalu! :)

So yeah. Have a blessed new year!!

Hugs&Kisses, and lots of well wishes. Promise I’ll try to update more :)

Cheers.
